Welcome to Romanihouse. These terms & conditions apply when you use our website and when you buy products through our webshop. By using the website or completing a purchase you accept these terms. At checkout we ask you to actively accept the terms before continuing to payment. If you do not accept the terms, do not use the website or complete a purchase.
The website is operated by Romanihouse. Contact details for questions about the website and your orders: Email: info@romanihouse.com Website: romanihouse.com In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Romanihouse. “You” and “customer” mean the person using the website or completing a purchase.
The website contains our webshop with books focused on Romani literature and books from the Balkans as well as other physical products. We also present our services (interpreting, translation, language review, lectures and cultural consultancy), which you can enquire about via the enquiry form. Customer accounts with order history are also available. We aim to keep the information correct and up to date, but errors, typos, pricing errors or other unintentional mistakes may occur. We reserve the right to correct errors and update the information.
We sell books and other physical products through the webshop. Each product is presented with its name, images, description, price, availability and stock status. Product images are meant to represent the product as accurately as possible, but colours and appearance may be perceived differently depending on screen and settings. We do not guarantee that all products are always in stock.
All prices are stated in Swedish kronor (SEK) including VAT, unless expressly stated otherwise. Shipping costs apply and are shown clearly at checkout before you complete the order. The total is calculated by the shop and displayed before you continue to payment. We reserve the right to change prices of products not yet ordered. A confirmed purchase is not affected by later price changes, except for obvious typographical or pricing errors that may be corrected under applicable law.
You add products to the cart and proceed to checkout. There you provide your name and email address plus delivery address, choose a shipping method and accept these terms. You are then redirected to our payment provider Stripe to complete payment. After a completed purchase you receive an order confirmation by email with order number, products, price, shipping cost, total amount, delivery details and payment information. Keep the confirmation. If you have a customer account you can also see your order history under My pages.
A binding agreement arises once your payment has been confirmed and the order accepted. If we cannot fulfil an order (for example because a product is out of stock or due to a technical error) we contact you as soon as possible. If payment has already been made, the amount is refunded in accordance with applicable rules.
Payment is made with the payment methods offered at checkout via our payment provider Stripe. We do not store full card details on our own servers. Stripe's processing of personal data is governed by Stripe's own terms and privacy policy.
We deliver to Sweden and the other EU countries that can be selected at checkout. Available shipping methods and costs are shown before you complete the order. Estimated delivery times vary depending on delivery address, chosen shipping method, product availability, carrier, and weekends and public holidays. We inform you of delays where relevant. We are not liable for delays beyond our reasonable control, but your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
If you shop as a consumer at a distance, you may withdraw from the purchase within 14 days under the Swedish Distance Contracts Act (2005:59). The period runs from the day you receive the goods. To withdraw, contact us at info@romanihouse.com before the deadline. State your order number and that you wish to withdraw from the agreement. You may also use the Swedish Consumer Agency's standard withdrawal form. Exceptions: The right of withdrawal does not apply to, among other things, goods sealed for health or hygiene reasons once the seal is broken, to audio or video recordings with a broken seal, or to newspapers and magazines. If an exception applies to a product, this is stated clearly before purchase.
For a withdrawn purchase, the goods must be returned to us within 14 days after you notified us of the withdrawal. The goods must be in substantially unchanged condition. You bear the return shipping cost unless otherwise agreed. You receive the return address and instructions from us when you contact us about the return. We recommend using a trackable shipment. Once we have received the goods, or received proof that you sent them, we refund the amount including the original shipping cost within 14 days.
If a product is defective or does not conform to the agreement, you may complain under the Swedish Consumer Sales Act. Contact us as soon as possible after discovering the defect. State the order number, the product and a description of the defect, preferably with photos. As a consumer you may complain about defects appearing within three years of purchase. Your statutory rights are unaffected by these terms.
If the parcel or the product is visibly damaged on delivery, please document the damage with photographs and contact us as soon as possible so we can help you further.
We try to keep stock information up to date, but an ordered product may exceptionally turn out to be unavailable. We then contact you. If payment has already been made, the amount is refunded.
You may create a customer account to view your order history and manage your details. You are responsible for keeping the details correct, for keeping your login credentials safe and secret, and for contacting us if you suspect unauthorised use. We may restrict or terminate accounts used in breach of these terms or of the law.
Our services (interpreting, translation, language review, lectures and cultural consultancy) are not sold directly in the webshop. Via the enquiry form you send a non-binding enquiry and receive an individual offer; an agreement for the service is concluded only when you accept the quote. Terms for the individual assignment (scope, price and timetable) follow from the quote or agreement. You always receive a confirmation by email when we have received your enquiry. Note that the right of withdrawal may lapse if a service is fully performed during the withdrawal period after you consented to this and confirmed that you understand the right then ceases.
You may not use the website to commit or facilitate crime, attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems, spread malicious code, disrupt the functioning of the website, circumvent security measures, collect other users' data without permission, or publish illegal or offensive material. We reserve the right to take technical and legal action in case of misuse.
All content on the website (text, photographs, graphics, logos, design and code) belongs to us or our licensors and may not be copied, distributed, modified or used commercially without permission. That material is displayed here does not mean it may be freely reused. Purchased books and products are intended for personal use.
The website may contain links to external websites or services, such as our payment provider. We are not responsible for the content, security, privacy policy or terms of external websites. Use of external services is governed by the respective provider's terms.
We strive to keep the website available and functioning correctly, but cannot guarantee that it is always available, error-free or free from interruptions. Maintenance, security measures, technical errors or external disturbances may temporarily affect the service.
We are not liable for indirect damages or losses to the extent such limitation is permitted by law. Nothing in these terms limits your mandatory rights as a consumer under applicable law.
We are not liable for delays or failure to fulfil our obligations when caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, war, government decisions, extensive disruptions to transport or communications, serious technical disturbances or strikes. This does not affect statutory consumer rights.
We may update these terms when the business, the website or legislation changes. The current version is published on the website. Changes do not apply retroactively to completed purchases in a manner contrary to law.
If you have a problem with an order, please first contact us at info@romanihouse.com so we have a chance to help you. We try to handle complaints as quickly and constructively as possible. If we cannot agree, as a consumer you may turn to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN, arn.se) or to the EU online dispute resolution platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr). You always retain the rights following from mandatory consumer legislation.
These terms are interpreted in accordance with Swedish law. If you are a consumer this does not affect rights you have under mandatory consumer protection legislation in your country of residence, to the extent such law is applicable.
